FREEDOM COSTS MUCH MORE
than military might ...
when LIBERTY'S at stake
brave ones MUST fight ~

Not just with weapons
bombs, missles & such ...
with valor & courage
our troops give so much ~

Who wince not at pain
will pay any price ...
for FREEDOM & LIBERTY
at such great sacrifice ~

And with steely resolve
in hearts that beat true ...
are willing to die for
the Red ~ White and Blue ~

Is glory THEIR motive
is renown or fame ...
chests cover'd with ribbons
a star by their name ~

Are pats on the back
or a standing ovation ...
what our brave troops seek
for defending our NATION ~

As they watch protesters march
screaming "PEACE" ~ placards high ...
while enemies are plotting
cruel ways we should die ~

As for me and my family
the voices we raise ...
are sending up prayers
to our Father in praise ~

Asking for His mercies
renewed every morn ...
for those upon whose backs
our FREEDOM is borne ~

Protect those still in battle
in air ~ on land and sea ...
dear Father, help us ne'er forget
FREEDOM IS NOT FREE !

Comfort each grieving family
whose loved ones were lost ...
who're tasting the bitter fruit
of FREEDOM'S great cost ~

And, Welcome Home, Father, those
whose last breath they gave ...
their blood shall shout FREEDOM
E'EN FROM THE GRAVE !
