What if our Saviour, Jesus, had said,

"Not Your Will, Father, but mine be done;

What if He'd chosen to keep His life,

Not given it freely, God's perfect Son.

What if The Precious Lamb of God

from His shearers had run away;

And ~ The Good Shepherd had not

left the ninety & nine to find that one lil' stray?

Oh ~ what if the angry, teeming mob,

cried, let Jesus not Barrabas go free;

so there'd been no King of Glory

to shed His Royal blood for you & me?

What if He'd chosen not one stripe to bear,

for our sicknesses, griefs and pain;

and, there'd been no tender Prince of Peace,

to love and restore us again?

Can you tell me, dear ones, to whom

we'd now go, had Jesus refused the Cross;

If He'd said, "Not your will ~ but mine be done",

this whole wide world would still be lost.

What if there'd been no empty tomb,

No angels proclaiming, "He has risen;

"Jesus Christ is ALIVE forevermore",

Friends, how would our sins be forgiven?

So many "what ifs" we could ponder,

Praise God ~ these shall never be;

Thank You, our precious Saviour, those

"What ifs" were nailed to that ole' rugged tree !
