THE SHEPHERD'S HEART

When I was a lil' child upon my mother's

knee, my favorite thing was when she read the

Bible book to me; She'd read about a Shepherd

and tears would fill her eyes, what caused my

 mother's tears back then I didn't realize.

From another book she'd read my favorite

nursery rhyme about a girl named Mary, she

read time after time; "Mary had a little lamb

whose fleece was white as snow, and everywhere

that Mary went the lamb was sure to go."

When mother put the books away she'd begin to

sing, about a place called Heaven, Oh~how her

voice did ring; She'd sing "The Old~Old Story &

then Amazing Grace" ~ Songs about the

Shepherd's LAMB who gladly took my place.

"Now I lay her down to sleep", I'd hear my

mother say, "If she should die before she wakes,

take her soul, dear Lord, I pray". Then I'd ask

my mother, "Why did HE have to die"? She'd say,

"When you are older, you'll understand just why".

I'd feel my mother's loving heart as she held me

there closely to her bosom in that ole' rockin'

chair; The beating of her heart would put me fast

asleep and dreamland, where Mary's LAMB was

 sure my soul to keep.

Childhood was left far behind~ years & years

had flown, I told the stories~sang the songs to

children of my own; They'd often ask me, "Mother,

why do you always cry every time you read about

the LAMB who had to die"? I'd hold them to my

bosom and whisper mother's prayer, my heart

would beat the rhythm of that same ole' rockin'

chair; by then I knew the answer to my childhood

quest So I told to them the story as they lay

 upon my breast.

A spotless LAMB named JESUS came to earth

from Heav'n above ~ He had a gentle

SHEPHERD'S HEART filled with His Father's

LOVE; The Father needed someone to take our

sins away, So He could open Heav'n to all of us

one day. THE LAMB of GOD did only good

everywhere HE'D go ~ Remember, He was Mary's

LAMB, with fleece as white as snow; He made the

lame to walk again; caused blinded eyes to see ~

Open'd sin's dark prison, set every captive FREE!

The SHEPHERD'S HEART was beating a rhythm

never heard, THE LAMB before HIS shearer's

stood, saying not a word; As HE died upon the

Cross HE was not fast asleep BUT ~ whisper'd

only~ "Father, I pray my soul, YOU KEEP"! They

laid HIM in a borrowed tomb covered by a stone,

 HIS SHEPHERD'S HEART now silenced~they

thought it ever gone. BUT ~ death just could not

conquer Mary's little LAMB, He's ALPHA & OMEGA

~ OUR GOD ~ THE GREAT I AM !!! Now THE LAMB

OF HEAVEN holds us closely to his breast, we can

feel HIS SHEPHERD'S HEART bringing Peace and

Rest; each beat resounds the message of HIS

 Mercy and HIS Grace ~ ~ ~ AND ~ it won't be

long before we see HIM FACE to FACE!
