I've had a longing in my soul,
to soar to heights unknown;
As I watch the birds spread their
wings;  fly  where I've not  flown.

Heard  their  gentle,  sweet  refrain,
As  they glide so  freely  by;
And a song would rise within me,
~~~ I never knew  just  why.
Then,  one  day  I heard a tender voice,
speaking  to  my  heart;
"My child,  don't  be  dismay'd",
He said,  as  these words he did impart.
"I  made  the  birds  with wings  so strong,
to fly  where safety  dwells;
To bring you joy as you watch their
flight;  a  lovely   story  tells."
"Their  song  brings out a song in you,
though  silent  it may  be;
But,  I  can hear  your silent  song,
what  a  lovely  melody".
The  story  He began to tell,
brought such joy within  my  soul;
of a wondrous  Land where Joy shall
n'er  end,  streets are paved with gold.
He spoke of  a day when I'll  fly away,
to this Home that knows no tears;
Where  He is King of Kings ~ ~ ~
Completely   free  of   fears.
"I'll  come  for you, my  child, " He said,
We'll  fly  to my  Father's  Land;
And that  longing you have to fly & sing,
Then  you  will understand".
Oh ~  friend, do you see what  I  see now,
why  the birds  mean  so  much  to me;
Do you hear His Voice of tenderness,
speaking to you,  this  Mystery?
I  pray  you hear  His message,
when   He  speaks  it  your  heart;
If  so,  we  shall meet  in  Heaven,
Where  He reigns ~  ne'er again  to  part.
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
