JESUS  WILL  FIND  YOU

You won't  find  Him in  a  manger,
though  'twas  there at birth  he lay;
among  the  lowly  stable  beasts,
But ~ He is not there  today.

And,  if  you look  in  the  Temple,
where He taught teachers  of God's Word;
You  may hear  only  an  echo,
of the astounding  doctrines they heard.

At the banks  of the  Jordan  River,
where "The Baptist " saw the Spirit  light;
You'll  see  only visions of  His baptism,
for the Dove long  ago  took  flight.

If  you travel  the  roads  of  Samaria,
still  His  earthly frame you won't see;
For time has erased His  footprints,
on the roads  'round  Galilee.

You may  search  every  nook  &  cranny,
all   the  streets  of   Jerusalem;
where  He deliver'd, heal'd, even raised the dead,
But ~  surely  you will not  find  Him.

Search in the place called "The Upper Room",
where the twelve shared  wine &  bread;
"This is my body, broken for you",
Hear the echo of words  Jesus  said.

Enter  the  Garden  of  Gethsemane,
where  He  knelt in anguished  prayer;
knowing  He must  lay down  His  life,
Still,  today  you won't  find  Him there.

Travel  on  to  the  Hall of  Pilate,
where His  trial was  a  mockery;
Can  you hear the mob chant, "Crucify  Him",
"Let  the one called  Barrabas  go  free"?

While  they marred Him beyond recognition,
plaited thorns for His bloodied  brow;
Laughingly labeled Him "King of the Jews",
Can  you still hear the echoes  now?

Up  the  crowded  Via  Dolorosa,
what  a  load of pain  Jesus  bore;
Forced to carry His own dying  Tree,
He will not  be  there  anymore.

Look  to  the  top  of  Mount  Calvary,
where they  pierced His hands &  feet;
The  spear that punctur'd His weaken'd side,
where His blood & man's  sin  meet.

Does  the  wind still  carry  the  echo?
Did  it  capture His  last  dying  plea?
"Forgive them, Father, they just don't know,
this fulfills  what  You  planned  for  me".

Visit  the tomb where  they  laid  Him,
Can  you see the  huge,  heavy  stone?
They  thought  would  seal  His  body,
because  it  was  mere  flesh and bone?

Your  searching  will be only  fruitless,
if you  think  He's  in  that  tomb;
For  He left it  empty  long, long  ago,
Yet,  I am no  prophet  of  doom.

Saving  the very best  news for last,
I'm  anxious  to share it with you;
If  you have been searching for Jesus,
Don't  stop 'til your quest is  through.

Search  nowhere  on  earth  to find Him,
no manger, no Temple, nor sea;
No  footprints, no echo nor shadow,
For,   He  is  not  in  Galilee.

No  nook,  no  cranny, nor  Upper  Room,
No  garden  nor  street  of  pain;
Not even  the Cross nor  barren  tomb,
For they could not  THIS KING,  contain.

Seek  Him  at  the  side  of  The  Father,
He's  there in that Heavenly  sphere;
Interceding for those who still seek  Him,
In  Spirit,  He's  so  very  near.

His  Resurrection  will cause you to triumph,
over  every  dead  work  in your life;
overcome darkened  tombs of indifference,
of  pain and confusion and  strife.

Whisper, "Jesus", and you may be surprised,
what  HIS  MIGHTY NAME  can  do;
Before you have time to seek  further,
I can  promise,  Jesus  will  find  you !
