HOW COULD I
TURN AWAY

He said You
are an idol
"Zeus" ~ was
the name he gave ~~
How Could I
Turn Away
when it's
HIM you died to save

He said,
"God will destroy you
if from
Jesus you won't depart ~~
How Could I
Turn Away, sweet
Lamb of God,
YOU'RE living in my heart

He said, "Be
happy with your idol"
Oh, Lord,
those words I do obey ~~
For YOU are
the lover of my soul
How Could I
Turn Away

He gave me
several scriptures
of what The
Prophets have to say ~~
Oh ~my
EVERLASTING FATHER
How Could I
Turn Away

He said
there's no NEW Covenant
Oh ~ Lord, I
wonder what Paul would say ~~
Or John the
Baptist, who baptized YOU
How Could I
Turn Away

YOU said
there'd be false prophets
convincing
us to go astray ~~
BUT, Jesus,
YOU died on that rugged Cross
there was no
other way

To save a
lost and dying world
Your sacred
Blood was shed that day ~~
"Father
forgive them ~ they know not what they do"
the
witnesses heard you say

And prophets
of old rejoiced, dear Jesus
'cause
they'd been waiting for the day ~~
when YOU 'D
arise from the dead in Triumph
Make A WAY
WHERE THERE WAS NO WAY

Oh ~ Holy
Spirit of our LIVING GOD
woo THE LOST
SHEEP still going astray ~~
unto JESUS,
the Christ, our King of Kings
The Truth ~
The Life ~ THE WAY

ANOINTED by
The Balm of Gilead
Holy Father
~ let me ever humbly say ~~
" JESUS
CHRIST is our HOPE OF HEAVEN
Oh ~ please
~ Don't Turn HIM AWAY !!!

Dedicated to

whose
comments in my guestbook
inspired
this poem.
Dear Sam ~
May the Lord
bless you and keep you;
May the Lord
shine his face upon you
and be
gracious unto you;
May the Lord
lift up his countenance
upon you and
give you peace.

Numbers 6:24
Who hath
believed our report? and
to whom is
the arm of the Lord
revealed?
For he shall
grow up before him
as a tender
plant, and as a root
out of a dry
ground: he hath no
form nor
comeliness; and when
we shall see
him, there is no beauty
that we
should desire him.
He is
despised and rejected of men;
a man of
sorrows, and acquainted
with grief:
and we hid as it were
our faces
from him; he was despised,
and we
esteemed him not.
Surely he
hath borne our griefs,
and carried
our sorrows: yet we
did esteem
him stricken, smitten
of God, and
afflicted.
But he was
wounded for our transgressions,
he was
bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement
of our peace was upon him;
and with his
stripes we are healed.
All we like
sheep have gone astray;
we have
turned every one to his own
way; and the
Lord hath laid on him
the iniquity
of us all.
He was
oppressed, and he was
afflicted,
yet he opened not his mouth:
he is
brought as a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a
sheep before her shearers is
dumb, so he
openeth not his mouth.
Isaiah
53:1~7

For unto us
a child is born,
unto us a
son is given: and
the
government shall be upon
his
shoulder: and his name
shall be
called
Wonderful,
Counsellor,
The mighty
God,
The
everlasting Father,
The Prince
of Peace.
Of the
increase of his government
and peace
there shall be no end,
upon the
throne of David, and
upon his
kingdom, to order it, and
to establish
it with judgment and
with justice
from henceforth even
for ever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts
will perform
this.
The Lord
sent a word into Jacob,
and it hath
lighted upon Israel.
Isaiah 9:6~8
