Bright rainbows I'd give you with pots of gold,

were they in my power to give;

Diamonds & emeralds of glittering beauty,

your dream house in which to live.

The one on that hilltop you've longed for,

with a huge picture window to view;

the tree~lined, clear & sparkling stream,

with Crepe Myrtles and Magnolias not a few.

And you'd have that limo with personal

chauffeur, a cook & maids upstairs and down;

Your own private jet for those maxi~adventures,

to Ireland and, yes, London Towne.

You'd visit each place you've wanted to see,

carte blanche ~ not just Queen~For~A~Day;

And I'd heal your body so you could enjoy life,

Take all pain and suffering away.

I'd surround you with all of your loved ones,

so you'd never feel lonely again;

And change all your memories to sweet ones,

take away all those that bring pain.

Precious mother, I'd do all of this & more,

give you treasures beyond all compare;

You'd reign as that queen you've dreamed of,

with your throne as an easy chair.

Yes ~ I'd make your life so much better, dear,

Each wish would be but my command;

But ~ alas, I don't have this power at all,

to give you all these things so grand.

But ~ I'll thank God for each treasured moment,

we've shared; those times that money can't buy;

Just enjoying your cherished companionship,

watching birds teach their young to fly.

And, with God's help I'll be the best daughter,

it is within my power to be;

and pray I can show even half the love,

dear mother, that you've shown to me.

And ~ I'll hold your hand while you're

dreaming, then perhaps you won't feel so alone;

We'll watch the sunset together, sweet mother,

thanking God for each blessing we've known.
