It's Father's Day, dad, and

I'm thinking back to when

I was just a sprout;

When the greatest problem

I had to face, was to keep

from makin' an out.

To remember what you taught me,

"Always keep your eye on the ball;

Protect your base, keep your head

in the game; be a good sport, most

of all".

Then one day baseball ended for me,

life was a game no more;

BUT, before too long I realized, dad,

YOU really KNEW THE SCORE !

For you taught me self~reliance,

to be fair, honest and strong;

Dependable and responsible,

Make amends when in the wrong.

AND, tho' I've not play'd the game

in many years, those values learn'd

then are still true; And, I know I

had the BEST COACH in the world,

I'm so thankful, dad, I STILL DO !

I love you,

William
